NEW FOR Bayou to Bluewater
Bayou to Bluewater is now an independent distributor/dealer for the Imemsa line of pangas and is no longer a dealer for Panga USA. We purchase boats directly from Imemsa. After a visit to the factory, earlier this year, we are having the models we import constructed with all composite materials, no wood, this includes the transoms. The composite material alleviates concerns regarding possible future wood rot. Composite is also a little lighter than wood reducing the overall weight of the boat. The traditional wood constructed models are still available and have proved durable and seaworthy for over forty years. We also specified a light gray interior gel coat. The standard blue interior gel coat will still be available by special order.
Imemsa has designed and is producing two new models, both 23' but very different. The W-23NT with a 7'4" beam has a wider length/width ratio than the standard panga designs. Same delta pad feature that makes it a true panga. The Cayuco is a 23' long dugout canoe based design with a 43" beam. It also is offered in all composite, is rugged, requires little horsepower and weighs 529 lbs. with a capacity of 1100 lbs. We think it will be an excellent boat for skinny water fishing, hunting, camping, exploring etc. and will water test it when the first one arrives this spring.
Imemsa has new logo decals for the boats. Our website will continue to display photographs of the old version along with the new. The decals are easily removed if preferred.
